Years ago, I resolved to not make resolutions...so far, I've kept that resolution.
I love your approach
My similar answer, which I followed for a year or two on realising that we seldom keep resolutions, was to make resolutions to do things I had absolutely no interest in following such that I better quantified things I didn't want to do (that sounds far too convoluted for what it actually means ). That way I usually kept the real resolution

I feel better about my life now. I have a job interview on Thursday. I am continuing with my writing. I am paying all my bills, like clockwork.
I am slowly realizing I have a good life. It isn't always easy but it is a decent life. After all, I have travelled the world over the years. I have my computer and Internet. I'll have my A-Level English qualification in June. I also am resuming my social club in February [due to COVID-19 restrictions].
Thankfully I am trying to make my life better and take opportunities as & when they come.

I just have to stick with my English A-Level. Although a part of me wishes I were learning in the classroom. At least with a physical teacher I can break down the work properly and stick better to a schedule. Having to motivate myself is not always easy: especially when distracted by YouTube.
Still, I am halfway with my course and shall complete it.

Keep at it Candy - You will get there.
I know what you mean though. Motivation is not easy. I remember, years ago, when I was at college and applied for an distance / online course thinking it would not start before I left college. I was mortified when I got in early and ended up doing the two courses at the same time. In practice though I found it easier than later when the college course ended as, when I had the mindset for learning, it was actually easier doing the two at once rather than just the online course.
