I woke up very tired this morning. I needed to drive in the dark and through the centre of town for the first time for well over a year on my way to and from our art group Christmas meal last nigh. It's so long that I needed to check the map for road changes and I am not used to night driving anymore (not that I ever really was). I was wacked!
My problem is I don't get enough sleep. I pretty much don't go to bed until midnight now. Then I am up by 4:30. Not good at all.
I agree. Living like that would make me totally unbearable. It does depend a little on how much rest you can get during the day though. Our bodies get used to things and it can take work to change. My stepson lives to very similar hours to you. He has had a problem with sleeping in for years and is often out geocaching at the break of dawn.
I fall asleep a little after midnight.. then I wake around 8-9 in the morning.... depending on how interrupted my sleep was. I slowly go to bed earlier as I get older.. It used to be even later. I remember when I was in HS, sometimes I wouldn't fall asleep until not long before I had to get up for school.. ick. I had to take naps when I got home to feel better back then.. naps these days just make me groggy, so I avoid them.
I get into these depressed moods kind of a lot I guess, but usually it's not severe.... If I had to guess.. I think I have persistent depressive disorder because I've been like this since I was maybe 11 or 12.. with an occasional more severe version that I can dip into, but usually it's the low-grade version that I can get by with.
My doctors always just want to medicate me if I mention depression or anxiety, but I don't think it's ever bad enough for that.. it's the extent of the conversation they have with me, though.. never really a formal diagnosis of anything or any other recommendations. However, I think it's likely related to my health issues anyway, which I had since childhood, so that's probably why I can't ever fully shake it, but at least I can keep it mostly "subdued."

The thought of having trouble sleeping fills me with horror: I ALWAYS sleep. I need a good 10-11 hours of sleep. I do get up in the night BUT go straight back to bed until morning.
I refuse to stay up all night or wake up at 6am. I am NOT an early riser.

4.30 or so for me everyday.
Are you up and bombing around, or do you spend the early time doing light stuff?
We also like to be up early although it does depend on the weather and time of year,,if its a really hot summer we think nothing of getting up at 4,30 am to walk the dogs while its still relativley cool. But now in winter we get up at 6,30.
As for feeling.. Seeing the sunrise always makes me feel great and this morning was really truly magical... So I feel great we had a good walk enjoyed the crunch of the frost and the colours of the sky.
Only thing that made it poo was my fingers freezing again. Its been a problem for about 2 years now cold fingers even in summer. Raynauds syndrom? My doctor seems to be uninterested...

My fingers dont tend to change colour although every now and then I get a pop and an underskin bleed like a pinch under the skin. They just get freezing cold .. Right now Ive tested and my right hand is much colder than my left although this morning when walking my left was colder than the right...
OH says its because I have an icy heart... But I do have low BP and a slow heart rate as well as the graves which is what the doc blames for everything !
Do you know are those special silver gloves any help at all or just a hype?
