~I have my next door neighbour here all evening. My daughter set up a wifi security camera for her and we had a chat and a glass of wine. Poor thing was badly shaken, her front windows have been egged for the second time in a week.
Shes still in mourning and getting used to being alone this really shook her. Especially as we think it might be the grandchildren of her next door neighbours. They felt slighted that they were not told about her husbands cancer before he was taken into hospital for the last time. They have refused to speak to her since he died.. Its all to childish and silly for words.

How old are they?
I am presuming they are quite young and haven't developed empathy.

Luckily not for some years but I have had issues with children / young teenagers before in a rougher area I used to live in. The problem is that children can get away with many things these days and a word to the parents usually gives more grief. One incident that I do remember here was when my stepson was in his teens. A neighbour came round to complain about something he had done and I said that I would have a word with him. She appeared totally shocked that I was not instantly agressively flying to his defence. It totally took the wind out of her sails as I think she was squaring up for a confrontation. He could be very argumentative so, although not a troublemaker as such, he often rubbed people up the wrong way.

Sadly they are older 78 and 74 and they seem to have lost any empathy they had.
So the executive compensation is evaluated every year. It's about to be wrapped up, I can't wait to see what the outcome is for my package but frankly, I am happy with what I am making now and I am very appreciative of it already.

I have been sprucing up my apartment: putting on a load of laundry, opening the windows, washing up... You name it.
I am now browsing the Internet. I am an Internet fiend! I do love my computer. Oh: I have also given myself a manicure today, using a mulberry colour. It is rather gorgeous. I am absolutely in love with my nails.
Yesterday I went out and picked a sandwich box full of blackberries from bushes which grow on waste ground locally. They will nicely liven up my breakfast cereal.
This morning it was a big start to clearing up the decaying plants in the greenhouse and garden. It's a bit of a shuffle about though as the bees are still living in the compost bin so I had to find somewhere else to put the plants.

We have thornless blackberries in the garden. They look weird!

I cut the grass.
Maybe a bit like my Loganberries. They are like a cross between a rasberry and blackberry but thornless. The stems do seem a bit naked. They are well worth growing though as they thrive here. Just a bit untidy lol
I know its still early but Ive just finished the major part of clearing away my summer clothes. I will keep a couple of things out for warmer days but most of the no sleeve tops flimsy dresses and skirts can be packed away now.
I dont have expensive or fancy clothes but I like to look after my clothes so summer and winter my wandrobe gets rotated the things for storage and washed checked for wear ( some go to charity) pressed folded and put into storage with scent sachets ready for next year. I dont like having a cluttered wardrobe with summer dresses next to chunky jumpers or thick jeans next to summer shorts..

We're the same in this regard!
I love sorting my wardrobe: I do an edit every few months. It is so, so worth it. AND I love clothes absolutely. I really enjoy wearing current, stylish and on trend clothes that feel comfortable. Now I won't wear jeans: they look awful on me. No: I stick to dresses, skirts and smart trousers. I love smart tops, too: never T-shirts.
BUT I do love wearing trainers. Shoe-wise I go for comfortable, flat shoes. But they are still stylish!

I would like a wardrobe in the loft, so I could hang my out of season clothes...

A whole room just for my clothes. That sounds so nice.
Because my daughter has a 4-bedroom house she actually has converted one room into her dressing room, she loves vintage 1950s dresses and she has these beautiful things hanging in their full glory around the walls on clothing rails it's like walking into a designer boutique..

Well, I did a LOT of cleaning of my apartment today: hoovering, dusting, laundry... you name it.
I also have been out today: and - boy - is it hot. I had to shower for a second time when I got home. I literally gave myself a cold shower. The cold water was such a relief. My old clothes were gross and damp, too: yuck.
Anyhow, I went to the library, I went to a local shop and I had a drink of Tango at a nearby cafe. In spite of being sweaty, I enjoyed myself today. I just love being busy and getting things done, you see.

I've baked muffins (chocolate chip for today) and made sure everyone got prepared for the day. I also renewed a few library books and collected others that are due soon - love the warning emails that keep us on top of things! We'll make sure to get outside before the boys are off to spend time with their dad. Then I have a couple errands and hope to spend the afternoon reading!
