OMG shop till you drop. Apart from traffic and roadworks and diversions today went quite well really. I have enough shampoo conditioner toothpaste etc to last me for about a year. I bought myself a new air fryer oven which was half price. And I have some rather nice steaks for dinner tomorrow the infection rate is going up again both here and in Germany so the chances on the borders will be closed again soon. I hope not because it will mean the second year in a row that I have missed Christmas shopping in Germany but at least if they do close I have plenty of stock.

Fresh double-chocolate muffins baked, and everyone is ready for the day. Currently all reading quietly!
Going out for exercise soon by myself, then will convince the boys to do something outdoors - their activities sometimes have me sitting around watching, so I'll make sure I've gotten physically active first.
Later, we'll be cleaning floors and hopefully getting started with the first bits of schoolwork that are due on Sept. 17th. (Work samples the school calls "activations." We'll have monthly samples after that.) It'll be easier if we don't wait for school to officially begin on Sept. 7th.

You must have so many cupboards at home to keep all those shampoos, conditioners, etc.
I have a webinar this weekend and next weekend. Look at me multitasking by reading and typing replies here as I listen to the speakers like I can really take everything all at once.

My mum's mother language was Swedish. She moved to England in the late 1960's to make a new life for herself. She got married to a previous husband. Her English was excellent: you would never have guessed her mother tongue had been Swedish.
So - you see, uta93 - your English is excellent. Plus, you don't hear me speaking another language. Your written English makes you fluent in English. I think you'll go far in the language. In fact, you HAVE already gone far with English.

We do, you keep forgetting to turn off your webcam.
Unless its on the Norfolk broads you are a right little daredevil....(and an optimist)
I spent a day on the norfolk broads. Never again.
Dull, is much too kind a word for it. After an hour I wanted to turn round and take the boat back, but was voted down.
But in fairness, after that first hour, it went further down hill.
The countryside is flat, and I mean, it's flattttt. All around the canal there are 8 foot high reeds. So the view is of?
That's right 8 foot high reeds.
The only thing that stopped me jumping in was that I can swim.
Reminds me of my neighbour. Years ago before she was internet savvy she asked me if I would help her look online at a holiday for her and her husband.
I saw some great (to my mind ) holidays landrover safari in Morroco, wine tasting and making in France, pony trekking in the mountains in Spain..
They all seemed great to me. But her face, the look of horror as she saw adventure holidays. She took my arm and explained.. 'to me a holiday is a nice hotel fully catered where you open the door and fall onto a beautiful beach or poolside patio.... No exercise, no outdoorsy stuff just rest and relaxing'...
Sounds like hell on earth to me, cruises too, trapped with all those people on a boat to nowhere. Just shows even when it comes to our ideas of whats relaxing there are so many different opinions.
My best holiday was Sept 2001 we went to St Jean de Monts in France without the kids for the first time ever, we cycled and explored, tried glass blowing, kyjaking, visited castles, ate lunch in the park like the locals, and OH was busy being a slave at a medieval display at Castle Tiffauges when the news of 9/11 reached us. Even so it was a great holiday full of activity and discovery.
Two weeks!! Nice long one Cherry. The only thing I can say is just sit back and let them do everything for you. Just be pampered, that's what it is all about. And make sure you research any shore excursions you might like. I have seen so many wonderful things that I never would of thought about.

I am just eating my lunch as I post on here: I am having a cheese pasta dish. It's delicious!
I have had my daily shower earlier. I am also airing out my apartment. I can hear my neighbours chatting out my lounge window. In fact, I get on really well with my neighbours! They are decent people.
My sister is signed off work, so I shall have to go to the house soon. I also - sneakily - am going to buy myself some chocolate. I cannot function without chocolate.
The weather is sunny, so it'll be nice to take a walk to the house.
I'm waiting I'm waiting for my new shower it's supposed to be coming anytime between 8:15 and 10:15.
I suppose a 2 hour time slot is more convenient than Amazon who just said they would deliver on Saturday between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. and then didn't turn up at all.
However I had no say in when this delivery would arrive and 8 a.m. is right in the middle of our dog walking time so we've been up since the crack of dawn we've walked the dogs to the local park ( they are mot amused) come back and made sure that we are here waiting at 8:15 and guess what? no lorry...grrr
