I love the smell of the rain also and you brought back so many memories of being back north and actually enjoying the morning after a big snowstorm when the temps always seemed to drop.

I've never seen the film "Apocalypse Now". I am assuming it's good? When was it made? But my personal favourite film is "Coyote Ugly". It is such a brilliant film I cannot get enough of it: along with "The Devil Wears Prada" and "13 Going On 30".
