If I get started complaining, I might not remember to stop. So let's go with my silly annoyance at an authors not using their thesaurus enough. Last night it was the word "barrage" twice in a sentence.

The editor in me is hard to please!
lol the same word twice in one sentence.
Authors, ugh! A lot of times when it's a female author sharing from a 'male perspective,' it feels so unnatural and awkward, and it can be kind of annoying with how hard they are trying to sound like a "man." Same goes for male authors with their female perspectives lol

One of the things I really hate is, when I am writing, I get to a point in which I use two words the same consecutively, for example 'had had' like in "I had had a bad day". It works but always seems wrong to me.
I have never really thought about male and female perspective in writing but, on thinking now, it seems obvious. It would still confuse me on the difference between view and perspective though. I do play with grammar, and tie myself in knots lol, but English language is not really my top spot.

I try to always be grammatically correct. I have had years of practice on my computer, so know what I am doing. Still, I have made the odd error.
That brings to be the site "Grammarly". It is such a clever concept for a website. Having people improve their writing through Grammarly is brilliant. I'd advise any writer use it. I have not yet used it, but will. Plus, it's free. I know I sound like an advert, but I am not deliberately doing so!
Writing, anyhow, does need editing: as I've found out the hard way. Old mistakes are not repeated by me. I take serious note of where I've gone wrong with my writing and fix grammatical errors.
Anyhow, keep writing Jen! You'll get it right in the end.
I have a friend and sometimes when I'm explaining something to her, she would find one word so funny she would laugh so hard and so much and completely ignore and disregard what I was saying. And oftentimes these words aren't even funny. Or when I talk to her on the phone and she wants to tell me something but she doesn't want anyone else to hear her, so she whispers in the phone and I don't hear anything. That really grinds my gears.

I think what happens is that they tend to fall into stereotypes and generalizations when writing from the perspective of the opposite sex. I think that's why it doesn't jive with me.
As a reader of amateur prose [forums] I think grammar and spelling are very unimportant, if I can see what they are communicating.
Same. I'm much more sloppy and relaxed when writing online to people, especially if I am being more friendly instead of "serious." If I am wearing my serious pants, then I'll be very formal and proper lol

I remember all my friends reading a book called "Adrian Mole" they said it was just like boys growing up.
It certainly was about boys puberty, but it was written by a woman. How could a woman know the inner thoughts of a boy in puberty? In my experience, all they think about is wanting to shave, wanting to be 'manly' and talking about what they could do to any girl within sight. Not forgetting of course how many girls fancied them. lol
This I learned listening to them on the bus home after school.

On the bus home after school? - You forget the bit in which they attempt to eat all the goodies which girls made in cookery / domestic science lessons lol
when you are trying to do something, and all you can see on the page are adverts about holidays and loans it just really annoys me.
if you go on a website for a quiz, say, that's what you want to do.... take a quiz- not read about villas in madrid
I don't like the pop-up kinds. I don't mind ads so much otherwise... I usually am good at ignoring them lol unless a page is covered with them every inch. I avoid those sites!
I don't like when you go to read a recipe, and someone has written their whole life story in it.
Neighbor dogs barking excessively. Bring your pups in if they are barking that much, especially if they are barking to be let in!!
Agree if they are Barking to be letting let them in. But I get annoyed by people who hear nothing else but always manage to hear the dogs bark. Last night some complete idiot let off fireworks in our street at 11 p.m. of course my dogs went ballistic they were they running around on shredded nerves.. I've spoken to the neighbour concerned and I've told him the first person who turns up on my doorstep complain about my dog will be dragged by their short and curlys to his front door where I will bash their heads together and then they can sort it out between them because my dogs are not the cause they are simply reacting to his bad manners.

Yeah, the people causing the dogs to bark would be my annoyance, too! However, after living next to people for a while, you know when it's just the dogs barking at nothing and when it's another neighbor making it happen. I have BOTH going on lol
