I bought this vanilla room spray and to be honest, it doesn't smell much of vanilla, or indeed really freshens the room. It's a bit disappointing.
Opening a window is far better than those nasty artificial sprays fresh air is a good natural cleanser.. Rose floral smells make me heave to me they mean poop... As a home help older people who had toilet issues would use those sprays a lot . So rose=poop

I'm with Cassie and Candy on this one and hate the things. In my opinion they could be detremental to health as all those particles breathed in have to have some effect on the body. Masking a smell does not really stop it either. It just means you have two sources of airborne particles competing for dominance.Open the windows and clear the air. As far as possible clean / wash or clear out the offending articles.
My local council ....we have to pay €100 per dog in tax each year. Yesterday I received a letter with a voucher if I cycle all the way to the town hall all I am entitled to pick up up.and light for the dog's collar. While stocks last!
My question was if they can send a letter to everybody who is registered as paying dog tax why not just send them the damn light?
And why until stocks last they know how many dogs are registered in this town they know how many lights they need.... Yet another half-baked plan from this town council.
I just saw an advert for skin care, and as part of it they said Life is what you make of it
Not always true.. their are situations that are sometimes beyond your control. Health issues, money situation, being homeless, what ever. I'm not sure life is what you make it is really the best advice. it's only true to an extent.

Of course it is true that health and money can make life more difficult. But there are (almost) always two ways to look at a situation.
My health now limits my ability to travel and do some of the things I want to do do but I embrace the things I can do and enjoy them to the full, I also look at ways to make those small things more enjoyable. My husband is also incurably sick, if doctors were accurate he would be dying coming January. But doctors aren't always right and he is still fairly fit and healthy and we are enjoying everyday we have together ..
Knowing that he doesn't have many years left makes us appreciate each other I've given up work and I know we have a lot less money than we used to but we spend our days together and we make the most of every sunrise, every sunset, every full moon, every frosty morning. We are making the most of life. Because we know so if we sit at home and cry in our soup all we end up with is watery soup.

I know where you're coming from, Cassie: I am sometimes sick and it makes travelling difficult at times. But - in my ideal world - I'd travel the world and work full-time. I'd also achieve other goals. BUT it isn't possible. I can still go out and enjoy myself: I just can't do it across the world.
I - therefore - make the most of the small things and find happiness that way.
Yesterday I sent on my online friends at FB one of the 10 photo cards Id made for Christmas with a message saying that we were not sending paper cards this year but for each photo card we are donating the money (2 euro) to the food bank..
In general I got a really positive response from people except one... 'Oh' she said 'I think its a lovely thought but I wont give to the food bank anymore since I saw a news item where people were turning up in designer shoes and stuff to collect food so I dont beleive they need it'..
( the point is that anyone can fall on hard times and need help)
But I suppose no Christmas story is complete without its scrooge...
Yesterday, on my way home from mcdonalds, I saw a homeless guy and stopped to watch him play the guitar
He was really good, and so I left him £1 in his cup, (which was all ready overflowing with cash). He looked at me and went is that it?. all I'm getting?

That is both rude and ungrateful... Id have asked for my pound back...

Generally I am very wary of these people nowadays, unless I know them. We have a well know busker in Lincoln who is not homeless, more a street entertainer, so even when he is not playing I smile or say hello. I got annoyed / put off with someone in Sheffield a few years back now. He described himself as being the most friendly in the city, until he realised I was not going to give him money, at which point he came out with a constant tirraide of the loudest, fowlest speech you could imagine. It was very intimidating, so now I mostly steer well clear.

I had a similar experience with a man selling the Dutch equivalent of The Big issue. I was with a visiting friend at the time so as we walked along we were speaking in English, he obviously heard us and started muttering about damn foreigners taking jobs and damn foreigners taking their homes etc the usual stupid racist rubbish... I just wasn't going to put up with it and in perfect Dutch I told him exactly what his problem was and told him if he got off his backside and tried he probably would have a job and would have a house and that I had made the effort to learn the language and I have had to work hard and I paid more tax in my time in this country than he'd ever paid in his pitiful little life..
He looked quite shocked and I was quite shocked to hear a slight ripple of applause and comments of yes yes from people standing nearby who had heard the exchange. His tirade at me obviously wasn't the first of it's kind.
I know we shouldn't judge but it's one of the reasons why I give my money to the food bank and to the Salvation Army that way I know that it is being spent on food not on drugs or alcohol.

I often give money to charity. Not because I want praise or credit: but because I want to help people. It isn't out of guilt either. In fact, I give money to charity without telling anyone: this makes my intentions not about boosting my ego and doing it for popularity. Or even worse: out of pity.

Those young girls that squeal at stuff. Like if they get a date they let out this high pitched squeal of excitement. I hate that. We have one of those who works with us. Makes me wanna smack her.
I like it. The sound of people being happy usually makes me smile.

When you add a perfume to a smell, you have perfume plus smell. That's it. The smell doesn't go away, you just get both.

Limited selection of styles of clothes in the shop. I shouldn’t complain really. What do you expect from a market of 5ish M population😒

No alcohol for me: I steer well clear. I don't even go to bars or clubs.
I live the clean life.
Well there was plenty of alcohol flowing at our Christmas meal last night but I didn't have any at all. I was driving, otherwise I would have. I don't drink to excess at all these days though.
