My daughter and son-in-law are coming to dinner my daughter and I are cooking a Chinese style feast beef rendang, chicken sweet and sour , chicken in black bean sauce spicy rice mini lompia and naan bread all home made. And I've made a red velvet cake for afters... Small gifts have been booked and will be exchange tomorrow a bottle of special gin for him and the not-so-secret glass ornament to me.

John got me roses and chocolates yesterday. We decided to stay in this year and John is going to do all the cooking. Originally we thought Thai but we are having pork tenderloin and later if the weather permits, rain right now, we are going to spend time out on the lanai and in the hot tub. We plan to finish the day by having one of our better wines, a 1982 Chateau Lynch Bages.

We have just finished the meal. I had a mushroom and parsnip in red wine pie, followed by the muscarpone cheesecake. I am just about to have a second pice of that, and a glass of schnapps
I think I am almost as round as I am tall. Our feast was magnificent and of course we cooked far too much so there's lots leftover for tomorrow. It was really delicious and had all our taste buds tingling.
Well, dangit... The crepes we ordered were not very good. We have been going there for years, and this was the first disappointment we have had. They were extremely salty to the point I could not taste the filling/toppings. I hope our dinner will be better at least lol

Probably no homemade filling. If it's something from a can that would explain the salt.
I served myself sloppy joes on whole grain wheat bread with two slices of melted deluxe cheese and tostitos with french onion dip and a can of room temperature coca cola. For dessert...ice cream. I am currently adoring myself and whispering sweet nothings to Kiki (my stuffed animal). Helluva life I got here. LOL

It was the crepe itself that was salty. Oof! I do think they might have mixed up sugar and salt with the batter lol

Probably under the meat. Fancier restaurants tend to pile the stuff up for plating lol not sure why, most people probably move the meat off of it to cut it anyway xD
